Promasidor Nigeria Limited has restated its
commitment to girl-child education as the 2017 edition of Cowbellpedia
Secondary School Mathematics TV Quiz Show opened amidst excitement and
expectations.

Mr. Olivier Thiry, Managing Director of
Promasidor Nigeria Limited explained at a press briefing held in Lagos last
week that girl-child education is very important to nation building and human
capital development.
He stated
that the stage 1 of the competition will continue with the initiative that was
started in 2016 where mixed school were asked to nominate a minimum of two (2)
girls for each category to represent such school. This, according to him, will
encourage the girl child to take interest in education especially the STEM
courses.
In continuation, Thiry added that the minimum
girl-child enrolment initiative which started last year paid off as it was an
all-girls affair in the Junior category and in the Senior category, the 1st
and 2nd runner up positions.
He maintained that Cowbell Our Milk has been
involved in the improvement of the standard of education in Nigeria especially
in Mathematics over the last two decades.
Thiry noted that across the globe, investment
in education has assumed an entirely new frontier that government and corporate
organizations have come to realize that building capacity in STEM courses which
Mathematics is a key component of, represents the driving force for development
in the 21st century.
Like the previous editions, the Cowbellpedia
Secondary Schools Mathematics Quiz Show is open to Students in JSS3 and SSS2
from 10-18 Years of age attending full time secondary Education in both Public
and Private Schools in Nigeria. To register you are required to visit

The
ultimate prize for this year’s edition is One Million Naira and an all-expense
paid educational excursion outside the country while the 1st and 2nd
runners up will go home with Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only and
Five Hundred Thousand Naira only respectively.
The
Teachers of the winners will be awarded Four hundred thousand naira while
Teachers of 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up will go home
with Three hundred thousand naira and Two hundred thousand naira respectively.
The 2016 winners, Miss Juliet Ekoko and Master

to hone their Mathematics skill through the Cowbellpedia Secondary School
Mathematics TV Quiz Show.
It would be recalled that Promasidor Nigeria
