Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has showered praise on his wife, Simi, describing her as the finest songwriter in Nigeria’s music industry.
Speaking during an interview with Angela Yee, the singer revealed that despite working with several talented writers, he believes Simi’s creativity stands in a league of its own.
According to Adekunle Gold, Simi possesses a rare ability to create multiple songs from a single instrumental beat — a skill he says he has never witnessed in other artists.

“Nobody writes songs like Simi. I have never seen somebody write about 10 songs on one beat before,” he said. “Most artists record whatever comes to mind at the moment, but Simi can create different songs entirely from the same beat. That kind of talent is truly unique.”
The singer further explained that Simi often develops several versions of a song before deciding on the final release. He cited her hit track Duduke as an example, revealing that she created about three different versions before settling on the one fans eventually heard.

“She has written too many songs on one beat, and sometimes it’s the fifth version that finally gets released,” he added. “She wrote about three different versions of ‘Duduke.’”
