In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, Governor Idris dismissed the rumors as baseless.

He stated that while he would ordinarily ignore such “mad fellows dancing naked in the marketplace,” he felt compelled to address the issue for the sake of clarity.
Governor Idris categorically stated that he is not a “political prostitute” and affirmed his status as a “dyed-in-the-wool” APC member.

“I am made in APC, by APC, and for APC,” he declared, emphasizing that he would be the last person to abandon his “reliable and formidable party” for any coalition, regardless of its architects.
He further emphasized his deep connection with the people of Kebbi State, who are overwhelmingly loyal to the APC, stating, “He cannot and will not abandon his people to embrace political strangers.”
