First City Monument Bank (FCMB) will host the inaugural FCMB Healthcare Summit on July 28, 2026, bringing together healthcare providers, investors, financiers, policymakers, development partners and industry experts to explore financing solutions and partnerships aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s healthcare sector.

The summit, themed “Financing Growth: Unlocking Opportunity, Building the Future of Healthcare,” is part of the bank’s efforts to support critical sectors of the economy through innovative financing, strategic partnerships and capacity-building initiatives.

The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Salako, is expected to deliver the keynote address titled “The Future of Healthcare Financing in Nigeria,” highlighting priorities for improving healthcare funding and service delivery across the country.

Participants will engage in keynote presentations, executive conversations and panel discussions focusing on access to capital, investment readiness, governance, strategic partnerships and sustainable business growth within Nigeria’s healthcare industry.

Speaking ahead of the event, FCMB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yemisi Edun, said a resilient healthcare system is essential for Nigeria’s economic development and requires strong collaboration between the public and private sectors.

According to her, sustainable healthcare delivery goes beyond clinical excellence and depends on adequate financing, effective business management, long-term investment and strategic partnerships.

Edun said the summit would provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships and identify practical solutions that will enable healthcare businesses to grow while improving healthcare outcomes for Nigerians.

She added that FCMB remains committed to providing financial solutions that help healthcare providers expand infrastructure, acquire modern medical equipment, strengthen working capital and improve operational efficiency.

Nigeria’s healthcare sector continues to grapple with infrastructure deficits, rising operational costs, foreign exchange pressures, workforce shortages and limited access to investment capital. The summit aims to foster collaboration among healthcare providers, financial institutions, government agencies and development partners to address these challenges.

As part of the programme, FCMB will host a dedicated session titled “Financing Healthcare Growth,” where it will showcase financial products designed to support infrastructure development, equipment acquisition, digital transformation, working capital and long-term expansion for healthcare businesses.

The President of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, Mrs. Njide Ndili, will deliver an industry address on “Building a Stronger Private Healthcare Sector: Leadership, Collaboration and Sustainable Financing for the Future.”

Other sessions will include panel discussions on “Unlocking Capital, Partnerships and Sustainable Growth in Nigeria’s Healthcare Sector” and “From Survival to Scale: Building Bankable Healthcare Businesses in Nigeria,”alongside an executive conversation examining how healthcare organisations can attract investment through sound leadership, governance and investment readiness.

The Health Business Academy for Africa (HBA) will serve as the summit’s technical partner, providing strategic support and industry expertise aimed at strengthening leadership and institutional capacity within Africa’s healthcare sector.
