Veteran Nigerian singer and rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has revealed plans to highlight the achievements of Monday Okpebholo in an upcoming music project, following an inspection tour of key infrastructure developments across Edo State.
Popularly known for his hit track “Nigeria Jagajaga,” the outspoken artist said his recent visits to multiple project sites left him impressed with the pace of development under the current administration. He specifically commended the government’s efforts in road construction and urban infrastructure.
Accompanied by the Edo State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kasim Afegbua, Abdulkareem toured several notable locations, including the Sapele Road flyover at Adesuwa Junction, Ramat Park flyover, NEPA Junction roadworks, and ongoing projects in Temboga.

Speaking after the tour, the musician disclosed that he plans to return to Edo State for a three-week stay, during which he will document the projects and incorporate them into a music video.

“I’ve always spoken through my music,” Abdulkareem said, referencing his activism-driven career. “If I see progress, my music will reflect it. If there are issues, I will also address them.”
He also noted that his visit to Edo follows a two-month stay in Abia State, where he worked on a documentary project focused on Governor Alex Otti’s administration.
Reflecting on his earlier work, Abdulkareem recalled that although “Jagajaga” was released over two decades ago as a critique of governance, even former President Olusegun Obasanjo has since echoed similar concerns about the state of the nation.
The artist, however, struck a more optimistic tone regarding Edo State, stating that the government appears to be “on the right track.” He expressed appreciation to Governor Okpebholo for responding to the needs of the people and promised that his forthcoming music video would capture his full experience in the state.
“I won’t say too much now,” he added. “Wait for the music—it will tell the story.”
