The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has called on state governments across Nigeria to align with the developmental programmes of the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, describing her Renewed Hope Initiative as a catalyst for sustainable growth and empowerment.
Obasa made the appeal while speaking with State House correspondents following a courtesy visit to the First Lady at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday.
According to the Speaker, state governments should take advantage of the momentum generated by the initiative to promote lasting development, particularly for vulnerable groups.

“State governments must seize the momentum created by the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative to drive lasting and sustainable development for our people,” Obasa said.
He noted that the initiative is already delivering measurable impact in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and economic empowerment, particularly for women and youths.

The Speaker commended Senator Tinubu’s leadership and commitment to social development, describing the initiative as timely and transformative for disadvantaged communities across the country.
Obasa further explained that his visit to the First Lady was also an opportunity to extend goodwill during the overlapping religious observances of Ramadan and Lent, stressing the importance of unity, shared values, and national cohesion during the season.
The Renewed Hope Initiative, spearheaded by the First Lady, has gained recognition for its grassroots-driven programmes aimed at addressing everyday challenges faced by women and young people. The initiative focuses on vocational training, financial support schemes, health interventions, and expanded educational opportunities across Nigeria.
