Hundreds of Siminalayi Fubara’s supporters marched in Port Harcourt, clad in black and carrying placards, demanding the reinstatement of the suspended Rivers State Governor following the recent State of Emergency declaration
Hundreds of supporters of the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, staged a protest on Tuesday, taking to the streets of Port Harcourt to demand his immediate reinstatement.

The protesters, dressed in black attire, commenced their march from Aggrey road in Old Port Harcourt Township. They carried placards bearing various inscriptions expressing their solidarity with the suspended governor, including

“Together we stand for Governor Sim Fubara,” “We want back our Governor, we all voted for,” and “Governor Fubara is the pride of Rivers People.”
This demonstration marks the latest in a series of protests, both for and against the suspended officials, that have gripped Rivers State since March 18, 2025.

On that date, President Bola Tinubu declared a State of Emergency in the state, leading to the suspension of Governor Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and members of the state’s House of Assembly.
The protesters’ actions underscore the continued tension and political unrest in Rivers State following the recent developments.
Their demand for Governor Fubara’s reinstatement highlights the deep divisions and strong opinions surrounding the current political situation in the state.
