A governorship aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Adegboyega Adegoke, has raised concerns over the destruction of some of his campaign billboards in Ibadan.
Adegoke, who also holds the traditional title of Aare Egbe-Omo Balogun of Ibadanland, disclosed the development in a statement issued in the state capital on Tuesday.
The politician recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling party in the state, to join the ADC ahead of the next gubernatorial election.

According to him, several of his campaign billboards were vandalised only hours after he officially joined the ADC.
Adegoke alleged that those responsible for the destruction of the billboards were attempting to intimidate him because of his growing popularity in the state.

He, however, maintained that such actions would not discourage him from pursuing his political ambition.
“Destruction of my billboards and other illegal acts will not deter me,” he said.
The ADC chieftain warned that acts of political vandalism undermine democratic values and urged supporters to remain calm despite the incident.
The development comes amid increasing political activities in Oyo State as aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
