The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Agege Federal Constituency, Mudashiru Obasa, has called on residents to mobilise support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obasa made the call on Wednesday while leading an APC mega rally at Amoo Field, Orile-Agege, to officially flag off the party’s campaign in the constituency.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Director-General of the Agege and Orile-Agege campaign, Pastor Johnson Babatunde, Obasa urged supporters to take the campaign to households, markets, artisan groups, places of worship and community associations.

He said the APC must convert its numerical strength in Agege into increased electoral support at the polls.
“Let us join hands and make sure we deliver. It is not just about victory; we must surpass our previous votes. Sound it loud to everybody – all trade associations, artisans, tribes, religious and traditional leaders. We have the numbers, and we will pour it into the APC,” Obasa said.

The Speaker also urged supporters to vote for President Bola Tinubu, the APC governorship candidate in Lagos State, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, representing Lagos West, and himself as the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Agege Federal Constituency.
The rally attracted traditional and religious leaders, APC leaders and supporters, representatives of trade associations and artisan groups, as well as leaders of non-Yoruba communities.
Obasa described the large turnout at the rally, despite the midday heat, as a demonstration of the APC’s strength and cohesion in Agege.
“Agege is always one. And we will continue to be one. There is nothing wrong with our party in Agege,” he said.
He urged party members to remain focused on their campaign and disregard reports, rumours and criticisms from political opponents.
“There will always be detractors, but we will not listen to the din of the marketplace because no matter what you do, you will never be loved by the enemy,” Obasa said.
The Speaker also appealed to political actors and supporters to maintain peace throughout the campaign and election period.
“We must try to avoid conflict, because at the end of the day, the people will vote for their representatives – the people they truly want. Nobody can force anyone on the people,” he said.
Obasa further charged the APC campaign structure in Agege to sustain its mobilisation efforts until election day, with emphasis on trade associations, artisans, religious groups, traditional institutions and community organisations.
The APC chairmen of Agege and Orile-Agege, Alhaji Fatai Bisiriyu and Alaba Alashe, respectively, also called on party members to mobilise support for the party’s candidates, including Tinubu, Hamzat, Adebule, Obasa, Gbenga Abiola for Agege Constituency I and Sule Sakiru for Agege Constituency II.
The Chairman of Agege Local Government, AbdulGaniy Obasa, expressed confidence in the APC candidates, saying they would fulfil their campaign promises.
His counterpart in Orile-Agege, Akinola Abiodun Idowu, also pledged to mobilise support for the party’s candidates in the 2027 elections.
