Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called for a world guided by compassion and love, emphasising that lasting solutions to global challenges must go beyond policies to include humane values.

She made this known during a church service at Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, on the sidelines of the State Visit by Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the United Kingdom.
According to a statement by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady was received by Anthony Poggo, Secretary-General of the Anglican Communion Worldwide.

In her reflection at the service, Senator Tinubu noted that while governments across the globe continue to design strategies to tackle complex issues, compassion and love remain essential in achieving meaningful and sustainable outcomes.
She stressed that addressing modern global challenges requires not only sound policies but also actions rooted in empathy and shared humanity.
During the service, the First Lady also offered special prayers for British royal family and world leaders, seeking divine wisdom and guidance in their leadership roles.
Following the service, she toured parts of the historic palace and held meetings with officials from the Anglican Communion Office and the Anglican Alliance, a global network operating across 42 Anglican churches.
The visit also featured the signing of the visitors’ register, marking her presence at the iconic religious institution.
The engagement formed part of activities lined up for Nigeria’s First Family during the just-concluded State Visit, which focused on strengthening diplomatic, cultural, and bilateral ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
