LAGOS, NIGERIA — His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, has reaffirmed the importance of Nigeria’s creative industry as a tool for cultural expression and youth empowerment during the private screening of the upcoming film On Different Grounds.
The exclusive screening, held on Friday, May 9, 2026, at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, attracted a blend of traditional rulers, government officials, diplomats, and leading figures in Nigeria’s entertainment industry ahead of the film’s public release.
Among the notable guests at the event were former Minister Frank Nweke Jr., veteran Nollywood stars Kate Henshaw, Ini Edo, and Bob Manuel Uzokwe. Also present were producer Ope Ajayi, media executive Seun Oloketuyi, members of the diplomatic corps, and other stakeholders within the creative sector.

Speaking during the event, the monarch applauded the producers and cast for creating a film that highlights themes of unity, identity, and resilience across Nigeria’s diverse cultural landscape.
“The creative sector is a vital platform for cultural expression and youth empowerment. We must continue to support works that project our identity and values to the world,” the Olu of Warri stated.

On Different Grounds explores issues surrounding identity, purpose, and national unity while showcasing the richness of Nigeria’s multicultural heritage.
The Warri Kingdom also reiterated its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote culture, peacebuilding, and opportunities for young Nigerians within the arts and creative economy.
