Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as firm and purposeful leadership under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Obasa spoke on Tuesday, March 3, while chairing the 20th Annual Ramadan Lecture organised by Hon. Nurein Akinsanya, representing Mushin Constituency I in the Lagos Assembly.
Addressing a gathering of dignitaries, Islamic scholars and community leaders, Obasa drew connections between Islamic teachings on governance and Tinubu’s reform-driven policies. He emphasised that leadership is rooted in service, accountability and a clear vision for the people.

According to the Speaker, the Tinubu administration has prioritised economic stabilisation, institutional strengthening and governance reforms aimed at long-term national development. He cited ongoing interventions in energy, transportation and infrastructure as indicators of progress.
“Leadership is about service, vision and responsibility to the people,” Obasa said, adding that the Renewed Hope Agenda reflects values of justice, transparency and accountability consistent with Islamic principles.

He further called on Nigerians to remain united and supportive of the President’s policies, particularly as political activities gradually build toward the 2027 general election. “We must continue to support this great leader. Our unity and commitment will ensure Nigeria remains on the path of growth and development,” he stated.
The lecture, themed “Islamic Injunction and Leadership,” was held in honour of the late Chief Moshood Akanbi Akinsanya, father of the host lawmaker and a respected grassroots mobiliser. Beyond its spiritual focus, the event evolved into a platform for civic engagement and reflection on governance and national development.
