The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has warned Nigerians against fraudulent recruitment offers and fake appointment letters being circulated in its name.
The agency clarified that it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise, urging job seekers to disregard individuals, groups or organisations claiming to have the authority to recruit workers on its behalf.
NAMA raised the alarm in a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Abdullahi Musa.
According to the agency, the fraudulent recruitment scheme is designed to exploit unsuspecting job seekers while damaging NAMA’s reputation and corporate identity.
“For the avoidance of doubt, NAMA is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise,” the agency stated.
NAMA stressed that anyone claiming to recruit, facilitate employment or issue appointment letters on its behalf is acting without its knowledge, approval or authorisation.
The agency advised Nigerians to exercise caution when responding to recruitment messages, particularly those received through unofficial channels and social media platforms.
It also warned members of the public against paying money or providing sensitive personal information to individuals claiming to have secured employment opportunities with NAMA.
NAMA urged job seekers to independently verify any recruitment announcement, employment communication or appointment letter purportedly issued by the agency through its recognised official channels.
The agency further cautioned Nigerians to disregard unofficial letters, social media messages and job offers circulated through unauthorised agents.
“NAMA does not authorise individuals or third parties to solicit money or other consideration in exchange for employment,” the statement added.
The agency called on anyone who encounters suspected cases of impersonation or fraudulent recruitment to report them to the appropriate authorities.
NAMA also stated that it would not be liable for financial losses or other consequences suffered by individuals who engage with fraudsters or unauthorised persons falsely claiming to represent the agency.
The airspace management agency therefore advised Nigerians seeking employment to rely exclusively on verified information from its official communication channels.
