The Forum of Former Governors in Nigeria has received the news of the passing of elder statesman Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo with gratitude to God for a life well spent.

Dr. Olunloyo, a former governor of old Oyo State and a respected political leader and technocrat, was born in 1935 and lived through many significant periods of the twentieth century.

Known for his avuncular nature and sharp intellect, his extensive experience and firsthand knowledge of pivotal events spanning decades established him as a revered and reliable authority on modern Nigerian history.
Insightful, brilliant, and highly intellectual, Dr. Olunloyo was recognised as a child prodigy, particularly renowned for his exceptional aptitude in applied mathematics.
A first-class graduate in mathematics, he consistently excelled in his mathematical studies. His intellectual prowess was not without foundation, being a descendant of the distinguished Olunloyo family of Ibadan.
Throughout his career as a public officer and as a respected senior citizen, Dr. Olunloyo consistently endeavoured to foster positive inter-group relations, unity, and peace across Nigeria.
The Former Governors Forum extends its heartfelt condolences to the Olunloyo family and the people of Oyo State on the passing of this amiable and respected elder statesman.
