BREAKING: ‘Oshiomhole Must Go Protest’ hits Abuja

A mammoth crowd of resentful members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the 36 states of the country, stormed the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, calling for the removal of the National Chairman of the Party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The angry APC members blamed the National Chairman of the internal crisis rocking some APC states across the country, including Edo, Zamfara, Rivers, Oyo, Bauchi, Katsina, Imo, Ondo, Kwara,

With various inscriptions such as, ‘We remain loyal to the APC, but Adams Oshiomhole must go’, ‘We support Mr. President but Adams Oshiomhole has lost credibility to lead our party’, ‘If APC Must work, Adams Oshiomhole must go’, the party men warned of looming dangers, which will befall the APC, if Oshiomhole refuses to step down.

Speaking at the protest, some party members who spoke with our correspondent under the condition of anonymity said the protest has become necessary to bring back the days of peace and unity, which the party enjoyed.

According to one of them, “It is in the best interest of our party, the APC to remove its draconian and selfish national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, if it must move forward. Since he assumed office, the party has been moving from one problem to another. Obviously, all states’ chapter of the party are in one form of crisis or the other as a result of his fingering.

It is worrisome to note that in Zamfara and Rivers, the party’s candidates were disqualified from the elections because of the internal crisis that rocked the states as a result of highhandedness and selfishness of the party chairman. He has again started this game to ruin our great party in Edo. If nothing is done to avert this, we may lose the forthcoming 2020 elections in that state or not get a candidate to field for that election.”

He continued, “How can Oshiomhole go out of the APC to bring someone from another party to fly the ticket of the APC, knowing that a sitting governor is interested in his second term. All he wants is to destabilise and destroy our party; this we will not allow to happen. He is only concerned about his selfish and personal interest, not the people or the party. This is not how to be a godfather. We say no to this, and reject in totality the antics and the draconian rule of Adams Oshiomhole. He must go for our great party to flourish”

Another protester noted, “We have all gathered from all 36 states of the country to Abuja, as members of the APC to channel our grievances and send a direct message to President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene and call this man to order. Oshiomhole is a one man who thinks he is above the law and the people. He has bitten more than he can chew and we have come here today to say enough is enough. We are tired of his problems; he must go so that we can continue to witness the peace that we enjoyed in the past as a party.”
