An Abuja-based disc jockey, Amaobi Udeh, popularly known as VDJ Mobi, is gearing up for an ambitious 72-hour non-stop livestream in a bid to secure a Guinness World Record—while championing social change.
The event, dubbed Mobi’s Mixathon, is designed as a three-day continuous DJ performance that must meet strict technical and operational guidelines set by Guinness World Records.
Beyond the thrill of a record attempt, VDJ Mobi says the initiative is deeply rooted in advocacy. In partnership with FAB Treasure Foundation, the campaign will spotlight girl-child education and menstrual health challenges—issues that continue to limit school attendance and confidence among young girls.

“This is more than music,” Udeh explained. “We’re ‘mixing for a cause’—using entertainment to amplify real societal issues and create impact.”
The livestream will run under strict conditions, including uninterrupted playback, no song repetition within a four-hour window, and sustained technical performance throughout. Organisers have also outlined contingency plans to address challenges such as power supply, heat management, and sleep deprivation, while adhering to scheduled breaks permitted under Guinness guidelines.
VDJ Mobi noted that the project reflects his journey in Nigeria’s creative industry since 2022, where he has built a career as a wedding and corporate DJ. He described the attempt as a step toward placing Nigerian DJs on the global map and showcasing Abuja as an emerging entertainment hub.
The livestream will also serve as a fundraising and awareness platform, with proceeds and visibility directed toward providing sanitary products and educational resources for girls in underserved communities.
If successful, organisers say the Mixathon could open doors for broader initiatives aimed at promoting Nigerian creative talent internationally, including scaling entertainment concepts like silent disco experiences across African cities.
VDJ Mobi has called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, as well as global supporters, to tune in and support the initiative via his livestream channel.
“Every girl deserves the opportunity to dream big,” he said. “Through this platform, we want to ensure they feel supported to chase their own world-record ambitions.”
