Popular Nigerian actress and skit maker Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, widely known as KieKie, has revealed that she lived with her husband for four months before their white wedding, citing financial practicality as the reason.
Speaking in an interview with media personality Toke Makinwa, the entertainer explained that the decision came at a time when her rent had expired, and renewing it made little sense since her wedding was just around the corner.
According to KieKie, she and her partner had already completed their traditional marriage rites and were finalizing plans for their white wedding scheduled for January. Faced with the option of paying for another year’s rent, she chose instead to move in with her husband.
She acknowledged that the decision might attract criticism but maintained that it was a practical choice.
KieKie also disclosed that their church was unaware of the living arrangement at the time, even as she remained actively involved in church activities, including singing.
Her revelation has since sparked conversations online about balancing cultural expectations with financial realities in modern relationships.
