Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday held a strategic meeting with members of the Legislative Forum of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at his Abuja residence, setting off fresh political speculations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, disclosed via a statement on Atiku’s verified X (formerly Twitter) account, brought together key lawmakers of the ADC under the leadership of Hon. Uko Nkole. While details of the discussions were not made public, political observers believe the engagement may signal early groundwork for the next electoral cycle.
In his statement, Atiku expressed appreciation for the visit and the lawmakers’ commitment to the party’s future success.

“This afternoon, I hosted the Legislative Forum of our great party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Hon. Uko Nkole, at my residence in Abuja,” he said.
“I am deeply grateful for their visit and unwavering commitment to delivering success for ADC in the upcoming general elections.”

The former presidential candidate also struck a note of unity and optimism, adding, “Nigeria shall arise and shine when we stand together.”
The meeting comes amid growing realignments within Nigeria’s political landscape, with opposition figures increasingly engaging across party lines as preparations for 2027 gradually take shape.
