Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Argentine President Javier Milei on Sunday unveiled the “Isaac Accords” in Jerusalem, marking a new phase of strategic cooperation between Israel and nations across the Americas.
The initiative is designed to strengthen collaboration on key issues including democracy, counterterrorism, antisemitism, and the fight against drug trafficking. A central focus of the accords is enhanced coordination against terrorist organizations, particularly efforts to counter Iran’s expanding influence in the Western Hemisphere.
As part of the agreement, both leaders oversaw the signing of several bilateral deals, including a Memorandum of Understanding on preventing terrorism, another on cooperation in artificial intelligence, and an updated aviation protocol. The AI agreement aims to promote shared expertise and infrastructure development between the two countries.
In a move expected to boost connectivity and economic exchange, Israel and Argentina also announced plans to introduce a direct flight route between Tel Aviv and Buenos Aires by the end of the year. The long-haul journey is expected to take approximately 15 to 16 hours.
According to Netanyahu’s office, the new air link will support stronger business ties, increased investment, and expanded tourism between Israel and Latin America.
President Milei, on his third visit to Israel since taking office in December 2023, also confirmed that Argentina will relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Argentina is set to become the eighth country to make the move, following similar decisions by the United States and several other nations.
