The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has extended Easter greetings to Christians in Lagos and across Nigeria, urging them to embrace hope, unity, and renewal as symbolised by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola, Obasa described Easter as a powerful reminder of triumph over adversity, noting that the season reflects victory over despair and light overcoming darkness.
Drawing parallels with Nigeria’s current realities, the Speaker said the nation can rise above its economic and security challenges if citizens remain steadfast, prayerful, and united. He stressed that the message of Christ’s resurrection offers reassurance that no situation is beyond redemption.

“Easter is a season of hope and renewal. As a nation, we face economic pressures and security concerns, but the resurrection teaches us that no situation is beyond redemption. Let us roll away the stones of division and despair, and work together for peace, justice, and prosperity,” he said.
Obasa further called on residents of Lagos State to demonstrate love and compassion, emphasising that collective responsibility is essential for building a stronger state and a more prosperous nation.

He concluded with prayers for renewed faith among citizens, expressing hope that the spirit of Easter would guide both leaders and the populace toward a brighter and more unified future.
