Neos Airline, Italy’s flag carrier, has announced it will commence direct flights from Italy to Lagos, Nigeria, starting 30 October.
The airline, in collaboration with its local handler Sky Master, made the announcement at an industry event in Ikeja, Lagos. Initially, flights will run once weekly, increasing to three flights per week by the second month.

Sky Master Managing Director, Princewill Ogbonna, emphasised that the airline’s entry into the Nigerian market will strengthen the relationship between Italy and Nigeria.
Neos Airline will use a Boeing 787-8 for these routes and will tailor operations to meet the needs of Nigerian travellers, including groups and associations.
The airline aims to facilitate better connections for travellers, with potential direct flights to Rome via Milan for groups like the Christian Association of Nigeria.
Ogbonna thanked President Bola Tinubu and his administration for their proactive efforts in fostering foreign investment and reducing barriers for international airlines.
He noted that Neos Airline has already seen significant Nigerian traffic on its other international routes.
The launch event also featured remarks from the Italian Consul General in Nigeria, Ugo Boni, who celebrated the long-overdue direct flight service.
Boni anticipates that the increased frequency to three weekly flights will further enhance the relationship between Nigeria and Italy.
