2027 Elections: Falz Urges Nigerians to Vote, Says ‘We’re Not Angry Enough’

Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has urged Nigerians to actively participate in the 2027 general elections, stressing that voting remains the most effective way to hold political leaders accountable.

Speaking during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Tuesday, Falz said many Nigerians have yet to show enough determination to demand better governance through the electoral process.

According to him, politicians deliberately create the impression that votes do not count in a bid to discourage voter participation.

“We’re not angry enough. We need to react more,” Falz said, adding that while citizens often criticize those in power, they must also take responsibility by participating in elections.

The entertainer placed particular emphasis on first-time voters, describing them as critical to Nigeria’s democratic future.

“If our votes didn’t matter, politicians would not be doing everything within their power to influence election results. If votes didn’t matter, there would not be vote buying,” he said.

Falz maintained that widespread voter participation would make electoral manipulation far more difficult, insisting that an overwhelming turnout in support of a common choice would leave little room for rigging.

He expressed optimism that more Nigerians would heed the call to vote and play an active role in shaping the country’s future through the ballot box.
