The State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, has said that it will adopt direct primary in picking its candidates for all political offices ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The APC state executives said they arrived at this decision yesterday during their emergency meeting held in Ilorin, the state capital.

A terse statement on Tuesday by the state Acting Publicity Secretary of the party, Dr Dele Kayode, assured all aspirants on its platform of a level playing ground.

The statement reads, “This is to inform all members of Kwara state APC that after the meeting of the executive and stakeholders, Monday, September 3, 2018, at the party secretariat, the following resolutions were unanimously adopted:

“That direct primary will be adopted for the party primaries as directed by the National Executive Committee ( NEC) of the party.

“That all aspirants for the elective offices should come over to the party secretariat at No. 29, Agba road, GRA, Ilorin for further briefings.

“That level playing ground is guaranteed for all aspirants. “
