With just two-days to the kick-off of the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, ex-international, Friday Ekpo, on Wednesday urged the Super Eagles not to underrate any team.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that that biennial competition will hold from June 21 to July 19 in Egypt.

Ekpo advised that the team should play every opponent in its group with all seriousness to advance to the next stage.

The Super Eagles is in Group B alongside Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea.

“The fact that we have countries like Madagascar and Burundi in our group does not mean the team should go to sleep.

“No country is a pushover in football as far as I am concern. So I don’t expect the Super Eagles to underrate any team in the group stage,’’ he said.

Ekpo advised the players to play according to instructions and put in their best to ensure a good outing for the country.

NAN reports that the Super Eagles will play its opening match against the Swallows of Burundi on June 22 in the tournament.

The Eagles were held to a goalless draw by the Warriors of Zimbabwe on June 8 in an international friendly match before the team jetted out to Egypt for the AFCON.

The Senegal national football team, nicknamed Lions of Teranga, defeated the Eagles by 1-0 in their last friendly match.

Nigeria won her last Nations Cup in 2013 which was hosted by South Africa, making the country a three-time winner of the competition since its inception in 1957. (NAN)
