The BET awards is one of the best and major international award. The award cause a buzz of excitement as favourite nominees are named and the winners are announced at the most prestigious award show.
This year the show is been shifted due to the coronavirus Pandemic, the award ceremony will be televised live on BET on sunday june 28, 2020.
Three Nigerian artist made the list, Wizkid, Rema and Burna boy are nominated for the Best International Act in Africa for 2020 at BETAwards.
Wizkid holds the record for the most wins in the international artist in Africa, but this year he was nominated for the BET her award with his Brown Skin Girl when he featured Beyonce. Wizkid is the first Nigerian artist to be nominated in this category and for a domestic category at the BET awards in general. In February 2014, wizkid become the the first musician to have over one million followers on twitter.
The Mavin Record artist Rema was also nominated for the Viewer’s choice in the best new international Act. The young talented who rose to prominence with the release of the song “Iron Man”, which appreared on the former America president Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist.
The star grown up rapping and singing while in secondary school. He signed a record deal with Mavin Record in 2019, he peaked at number at Apple music Nigeria.
Burna boy also got nominated in the best international Act. Burna boy won best international Act at the 2019 BET Awards, and was announced as an Apple Music Up next artist. he won Best international Act at the 2019 Bet award and was announced as the Apple Music up next. He also won Album of the year at the all Africa Music Award.
