A law firm representing Sophia Momodu has cautioned Afrobeats star Davido and his supporters against making public statements capable of prejudicing the ongoing child custody proceedings between the former couple.
The firm, Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors, condemned the singer’s recent social media posts criticising one of its partners, Ebelechukwu Enedah, who is representing Momodu in the custody case involving their daughter, Imade Adeleke.

Davido had taken to social media to express displeasure after his deceased son was referenced during court proceedings, describing the move as a “lowest blow.

He subsequently announced his decision to withdraw the suit, clarifying that he had only sought joint custody and not full custody of his daughter.
In a strongly worded statement, the law firm stressed that the matter remains sub judice and should be resolved strictly within the confines of the courtroom.
“Our attention has been drawn to statements chiefly engineered by a Nigerian Afrobeat artiste, via social media, directed at our partner arising from her professional conduct in a custody matter presently pending before a court of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State,” the statement read.
The firm warned that any attempt to intimidate legal practitioners or interfere with judicial proceedings would be resisted through all lawful means.
“Punuka Attorneys & Solicitors will deploy every lawful measure available to it to resist any attempt to intimidate counsel or undermine judicial proceedings. Those who engage in conduct calculated to interfere with the administration of justice will be met with the full consequences provided by law,” it added.
The development has sparked widespread reactions online, with the custody dispute drawing heightened public attention amid calls for restraint as the case continues before the Lagos court.
