Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the nomination of Dr. Olufunke Omolara Tayo-Makanjuola as the Acting State Auditor-General, subject to confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The appointment was announced in Circular No. CIR/HOS/’26/052 dated July 28, 2026, issued by the Office of the Head of Service. It took effect from July 28, 2026.

Before her nomination, Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola served as the Head of Directorate, Government Accounts, where she earned recognition for her professionalism, integrity, and dedication to sound public financial management.
A native of Ikate-Elegushi in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola was born on September 20, 1974. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration in International Business from Lagos State University, a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University.

She also obtained Higher National Diploma and National Diploma qualifications in Accounting from the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Accounting and Criminal Intelligence from the University of Lagos.
Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola is a Fellow and member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), the Chartered Institute of Directors (CIoD), and the Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals (CFIP-USA).
In recognition of her contributions to society, she received the Distinguished Woman of Peace and Honour Award from the United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre (UN-POLAC).
The management and staff of the Office of the State Auditor-General congratulated Dr. Tayo-Makanjuola on her nomination, expressing confidence in her ability to enhance accountability, transparency, and excellence in public sector auditing across Lagos State.
They also commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for entrusting her with the responsibility of leading the office and advancing the state’s commitment to good governance and prudent management of public resources.
