Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke has opened up about a major health challenge that reportedly left her spending as much as N800,000 every month on medication.
The actress disclosed this during an interview on African A List, where she spoke about the financial burden of managing her illness and the support she received from friends and colleagues.

Oshodi-Oke expressed gratitude to APC chieftain Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, as well as her colleagues in the movie industry, for helping her through the difficult period.
“Thanks to MC Oluomo and my colleagues who kept me alive today. Do you know what it means for someone to buy drugs worth N800,000 every month?” she said.

The actress also recounted how her colleague, Sotayo Gaga, offered financial assistance despite the fact that they had not spoken for about five to six years following a disagreement.
According to Oshodi-Oke, Gaga sent her N150,000 after learning about her illness.
“The last time Sotayo and I spoke was six years ago. But when she heard that I fell sick, she sent me N150,000. If we meet at a party, we bypass each other without greeting,” she recalled.
Oshodi-Oke further revealed that her experience during the health crisis influenced her decision to join the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC).
She, however, stressed that her religious choice does not mean she looks down on other faiths.
“It was when I was terribly sick that I joined Cele. As for me, I don’t condemn other religions,” the actress added.
