Opposition coalition has not adopted the All Democratic Alliance as its 2027 platform, says Atiku aide Demola Olarenwaju, urging public patience and clarity
Opposition coalition denies adopting the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) as its official political platform ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

This clarification comes from Demola Olarenwaju, Special Assistant on Digital Media Strategy to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in response to recent media reports.

Posting on his verified X account on Saturday, Olarenwaju expressed disappointment at what he described as premature and misleading headlines suggesting that the coalition had settled on ADA as its vehicle for the upcoming elections.
He stated that the group behind ADA is currently pursuing party registration, but no adoption has taken place at the coalition level.

“Nigerian newspapers often contribute to our challenges,” he said. “A group is in the process of pursuing party registration, just like any other Nigerian, but they need to coordinate this with the coalition.”
His remarks follow the recent letter from the Nigeria National Coalition Group (NCG) to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in which the group formally sought registration for ADA.
That move triggered widespread speculation that key political figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Nasir El-Rufai and Rotimi Amaechi may be converging on a new platform to challenge the ruling party in 2027.
Olarenwaju, however, dismissed those claims as speculative. He insisted that ADA has not been adopted by any opposition alliance and that the public will be duly informed when a consensus is reached.
“Just be patient with that,” he urged, calling for caution and accuracy in political reporting.
The denial from Atiku’s camp has brought a temporary halt to the swirling rumours about a unified opposition strategy under ADA.
As the 2027 elections draw nearer, political realignments are expected, but for now, the key players remain in dialogue without a formalised platform.

The opposition coalition denies adopting ADA, and its message is clear: no single group or movement speaks for the broader alliance unless a collective decision has been made and officially communicated.
