No Nigerian will regret re-electing Buhari for second term – Omo-Agege

The deputy Senate president, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has said that no Nigerian will regret the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term because the president loves Urhobos and Nigerians.

The Nation reports that Omo-Agege made the statement at his Orogun country-home, Ughelli north local government area of Delta on Thursday, August 1, when he received a heroic welcome at the Osubi Airstrip in Okpe council Area of the state.

The senator said the efforts of President Buhari and other key leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made it possible for him to emerge deputy Senate president.

“You all knew how I got to the position of the Deputy Senate President. It is a position that has not come to the South-South region since 1999. But today, we got that position and all of this only became possible because of the full support of President Muhammadu Buhari,” Omo-Agege said.

“I told you that if you vote for me and Buhari, you will not regret it because Buhari loves Urhobos and Nigerians; and he has fulfilled it by giving us DSP and a Minister.”

He thanked all APC governors, key leaders of the party and fellow Senators of the ninth National Assembly for ensuring that he emerged the as deputy Senate president.

Omo-Agege promised not to let his people down by fulfilling all his promises made to them during the electioneering campaigns.

Meanwhile, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has congratulated the deputy president of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as he turns 56 years on Saturday, August 3.

Senator Okowa in a statement by his chief press secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba described the senator representing Delta central senatorial district as an illustrious son of the state, “in whom Deltans are extremely proud of for attaining such a high political height in the history of the state.”

The governor said the deputy president of the Senate is a great son of Delta and leader of great value.
