Nigerian army arrest two impostors in Delta State

The Nigerian Army wishes to draw the attention of the public on activities of some unscrupulous elements who extort and maltreat innocent Nigerians disguised as soldiers. This caution become necessary with the arrest of 2 impostors by troops of 3 Battalion Nigerian Army operating in parts of Delta State earlier today. The two suspects, Emejo Benedict and Onwusuluke Kelechi, were arrested dressed in military camouflage uniform while extorting money from commercial tricycle (KEKE NAPEP) drivers and molesting their fellow civilians along Nnebisi Road, Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State. The suspects have since been handed over to Nigerian Police in Asaba.

It is necessary to enjoin the general public to be more vigilant and security conscious because of the activities of these impostors. The general public are therefore requested to report anyone claiming to be a soldier outside a designated military locations.
We would like to again call the public to please take advantage of the newly established Nigerian Army Information and Call Centre to report any such issue and other security concern by calling the short code 193 using any of the telecommunication service providers in Nigeria or through email at na.callcentre@army.mil.ng
