According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident happened at Angwan Mayo when the gang’s Peugeot 406, heavily loaded with weapons, veered off the road shortly after collecting ransom from their victims.

Eyewitnesses said the suspects fled the scene immediately, leaving behind both the ransom and their arms.
Troops of the Nigerian Army later secured the vehicle and recovered the abandoned items. Security forces have since launched a manhunt to track down the fleeing kidnappers.
