A 43-year-old teacher, Joshua Olufemi, of the Heritage Group of Schools in Ofada Town in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, has allegedly defiled a 13-year-old male pupil identified.
It was gathered that Olufemi was said to have been allegedly having carnal knowledge of the minor through the pupil’s anus no fewer than six times at different times inside his room.
According to a source, who chose not to be mentioned, the mother of the pupil identified simply as Stella, said her son told her that the suspect had been carrying out such an unlawful action during lesson hours on the suspect’s bed.
Our correspondent learnt that the suspect, until his arrest by the police Thursday, was teaching Mathematics at the junior secondary school and Further Mathematics at the senior secondary schools of the Heritage Group of schools in the town.
Following the revelation of the teacher’s despicable action, the mother was said to have approached the Owode Egba Divisional Police Station to report the matter.
The police in the division were said to have begun an investigation into the matter after arresting and detaining Olufemi for the alleged crime.
While confirming the incident to our correspondent on Sunday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Odutola Omolola, who confirmed the suspect’s arrest, said an investigation was ongoing to unravel more details about the teacher’s conduct.
