As the May 20, 2026, submission deadline looms, Wema Bank is issuing a final call for children and teenagers eager to become the bank’s MD/CEO for a day.
First launched in May 2025 to mark Wema Bank’s 80th anniversary, the One-Day MD/CEO initiative celebrates Children’s Day in an unprecedented way. The program embodies the bank’s anniversary theme, “80 Years of Impact, A Future of Possibilities,” giving young Nigerians a unique opportunity to experience the responsibilities of leading one of Nigeria’s most innovative banks.
Last year, 12-year-old Chiderije Mbah made headlines as the One-Day MD/CEO, inspiring children nationwide to envision their future and earning praise from parents for Wema Bank’s commitment to youth empowerment.

For 2026, Wema Bank is expanding the initiative, inviting children aged 0-16 to step into the role of MD/CEO for a day on Monday, May 25, 2026. The lucky winner will participate in board meetings, make strategic decisions, and experience firsthand the challenges of running a major financial institution, including ALAT, Africa’s first fully digital bank.
To enter, participants must submit a 60-second video explaining their ideal role in banking and what they hope to achieve. Videos should be shared on social media using #EvolutionOfPossibilities and tagging @wemabank. The post with the most likes will determine the winner.

With less than two days left to submit, Wema Bank urges parents and young aspirants to act quickly. Full details are available on the bank’s social media platforms @wemabank.
