The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu as the substantive General Manager of the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), bringing months of legislative review to a close.
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa announced the confirmation during plenary on Monday, March 2, citing Section 92 of the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018, as the legal basis for the decision.

Adelabu’s nomination had earlier been stepped down in January to allow for further legislative scrutiny. However, following what lawmakers described as a thorough screening process, she secured overwhelming backing from the House.
Members commended her professional background and strategic plans to reposition LASPA for enhanced operational efficiency and improved service delivery across the state. Her confirmation was sealed through a voice vote, with the Clerk directed to formally communicate the resolution to the state government.
In a related development, the House unanimously adopted the recommendations of its Committee on Rules and Business over a disputed parcel of land at the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Ikorodu.
The committee, chaired by Majority Leader Hon. Noheem Adams, determined that the descendants of Segun Eyingbala are the original customary owners of the land, which was formerly part of LASPOTECH.
As part of its resolution, the Assembly directed the state government to allocate 50 hectares of land in a suitable location within Ikorodu to the family as compensation.
Lawmakers praised the committee’s diligence in handling the petition and formally adopted its recommendations as the official position of the House, signaling a move toward lasting resolution of the dispute.
