Kenneth Okonkwo says ADC will win the 2027 election and form Nigeria’s next government, vowing to end Tinubu’s rule with nationwide party support
Kenneth Okonkwo, Nollywood veteran and prominent politician, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will form Nigeria’s next government by winning the 2027 general elections, ending President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise programme on Monday, Okonkwo expressed confidence in the ADC’s readiness to take over national leadership, despite recent electoral setbacks.

“We are going to form the next government in Nigeria. And send Tinubu to Bourdillon,” he stated.
The declaration comes in the wake of the party’s poor performance in the August 16 by-elections, where it failed to secure any seat across 16 contested constituencies.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) clinched 12 out of the 16 available seats, according to results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Asked whether the ADC truly stood a chance in 2027, Okonkwo was unequivocal. “We stand a chance in every election in Nigeria,” he said.
However, he noted that the party’s current leadership under David Mark had not been responsible for previous primaries, implying that the 2027 polls would be the first real test of the ADC’s new direction.
“I wouldn’t say the same thing for any election for which the primaries have been conducted before the coming into existence of David Bach’s leadership. That’s why I’m saying the true test of ADC will be in 2027,” he explained.
Okonkwo also responded to questions about the party’s national structure, asserting that the ADC is now fully operational in all 36 states of the federation.
He identified former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi as the party’s figurehead in Rivers State, suggesting growing political alignments ahead of the next general elections.
