Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Habu A. Sani, on Tuesday urged the people of Kano metropolis to disregard rumours of possible attack by unidentified bandits in the ancient city, assuring that the police and sister security agencies are on red alert to deal with any emerging security threat.
Kano is now regarded as the safest state in northern Nigeria. The state has not witness any bandit attack since the security of the north deteriorated a couple of months before. Katsina, Kaduna, Zamfara, and sokoto states all witnessed some kind of bandits attack that resulted into the death of innocent Nigerians.
