Nollywood actress and producer, Joy Tambou, has been appointed Chief Protocol to the newly elected President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Alhaji Abubakar Yakub Sanusi.
Tambou was inaugurated alongside other members of the AGN president’s executive team on January 29, 2026, in Abuja by the outgoing AGN President, Chief Ejezie Emeka Rollas (OON).

Expressing gratitude to President Sanusi, the AGN Secretary, Ambassador Ifeoma Okeke, and the entire executive council, Tambou pledged her full commitment to the new administration. She said she would work closely with the leadership to ensure order, professionalism, respect and seamless representation of the guild.
“In alignment with the vision of our president, my core intention is to promote unity within the Actors Guild of Nigeria, strengthen collaboration among actors nationwide, and support initiatives that enhance welfare, professionalism and the global relevance of Nigerian actors,” Tambou said.

She added that the new administration symbolises “vision over division, service over status and impact over noise,” stressing her commitment to ensuring that all actors feel recognised, valued and empowered within the guild.
Joy Tambou is a seasoned Nollywood actress and producer with an extensive body of work. Her film credits include Tattered, The Other Side, Tangled Heart, Caught on the Net, Bliss of Kamara, Unexpected Love, Palmwine Tapper, Seven Daughters, Expensive Bachelor, Drink My Tears, When a Child Cry and 3 Days Burial, among others.
