Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has added another milestone to her glittering career, officially becoming a three-time Guinness World Record holder after her September 2025 achievement earned her an additional global title.
Baci announced the latest recognition on Tuesday via Instagram, updating her bio to read “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.” She disclosed that her record-breaking attempt for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice was also certified as the largest serving of rice overall.

“Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. What a way to step into 2026,” she wrote.
According to an email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering – Records Creative Team at Guinness World Records, the discovery was made while reviewing record guidelines across categories.

“Congratulations, you are Officially Amazing (again)! It has come to our attention… that when you and your team achieved ‘Largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice,’ you also achieved the record title of ‘Largest serving of rice,’” the message stated.
Reacting to the news, Baci said she was both shocked and elated by the unexpected double recognition.
“I was just casually scrolling through my emails when I saw the message. I was shocked and happy at the same time. Five months after the initial announcement, I was just finding out that there was more,” she said.
She explained that what she initially thought was a single Guinness World Record had, in fact, turned into two achieved on the same day.
“When @ginonaija and I broke the record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, I thought that was it. What I didn’t know was that we had also broken the record for the largest serving of rice overall. So what I thought was one record… turned out to be two. And now, officially, that makes three Guinness World Records in total,” she added.
Baci’s latest feat builds on her September 2025 record, when she prepared a staggering 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice at a Lagos cookout—recognised as the largest pot of the dish ever made globally.
This achievement marked her second Guinness World Record, more than two years after she first made history in May 2023 by completing a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, becoming Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.
She credited her team for the success, singling out @oreoluwa_atinmo for playing a pivotal role in bringing the vision to life.
“This journey and this record would not have been possible without her. From idea to execution, we did this together. Sharing that moment made everything feel real,” Baci said.
The chef also expressed gratitude to God for the unexpected milestone, describing it as a reminder that greater achievements can still unfold beyond what one imagines.
Concluding, Baci thanked Guinness World Records, her team, and supporters worldwide for their unwavering support.
“To my incredible team, this is our win. To everyone who believed and stood with us, my heart is so full—still processing, still grateful, still in awe,” she said.
The latest recognition further cements Hilda Baci’s status as one of Nigeria’s most decorated chefs, spotlighting not only her culinary excellence but also the global influence and scale of Nigerian cuisine.
