In a letter dated September 3, 2025, and addressed to the former Ogun State governor through his legal counsel, Prof. Yemi Oke, SAN, the outlet acknowledged its August 24, 2025 story titled “Why APC suspended Gbenga Daniel” was unfounded.
The management confirmed it had since pulled down the article, stressing that no malice was intended.

“We regret any embarrassment the publication may have caused and tender our unreserved apology,” the letter, signed by the editor, read in part.
The retraction comes amid growing scrutiny of media accountability in Nigeria, especially in political reporting where misinformation can easily damage reputations.

Daniel, who served as governor of Ogun State from 2003 to 2011 and is currently a senator, remains an influential figure within the South-West APC bloc.
