The Gateway Front Foundation (GFF) has commenced preparations for its 25th anniversary with a reunion of old, current and prospective members in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The reunion, held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Obalofin Court, GRA, Ijebu Ode, brought together several former members and ex-students of the Gateway Front Foundation and Political Academy (POLA).
The gathering provided an opportunity for members who had not seen one another for several years, in some cases nearly two decades, to reconnect and reflect on the foundation’s journey since its establishment.
Obalofin Court, the historic residence of the founder where the foundation’s activities began in 2000, served as the venue for the homecoming.
The event attracted a delegation of some of GFF’s longstanding members, led by former Executive Secretary of the foundation, Chief (Mrs) Folake Marcus-Bello.
Among those present were Hon. Ladi Adebutu, Mr Kehinde Sogunle, Prince Lekan Tejuoso, Hon. Wale Ogunbanjo, Hon. (Arc.) Kayode Adebayo, Otunba R.A. Adenaike, Engr. Ayinde Awobadejo, Chief Tola Odulaja and Otunba Stiles.
The delegation represented a mix of former leaders and longstanding members of the foundation, including members of its septuagenarian caucus.
Founder and Chairman of the Gateway Front Foundation, Otunba Senator Gbenga Daniel, personally received the members at Obalofin, in a reunion that underscored the enduring relationships built within the organisation over the past 25 years.
Earlier, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, his deputy and other members of the GFF delegation paid a courtesy visit to Daniel at his residence.
During the visit, members signed a resolution on state creation, while several founding members also participated in the engagement.
They included Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello, who served as the second Executive Secretary of GFF and a former commissioner; Kehinde Sogunle, a financial member of GFF and Chief Knowledge Officer of Lead Resources; Prince Lekan Tejuoso, a former Commissioner for Cooperative Development; and Femi Omotayo.
A major outcome of the reunion was the constitution of a 25th Anniversary Special Implementation Committee to coordinate preparations for the foundation’s milestone celebration.
Sogunle was appointed chairman of the committee, which is expected to oversee arrangements for the anniversary and other activities leading up to the celebration.
The reunion ultimately served as both a homecoming for GFF’s old members and an opportunity for current and prospective members to reconnect with the foundation’s history while looking ahead to its next chapter.
