The company, known for its iconic Golden Penny brand, emphasized that its “Feeding the Nation Every Day” mission remains central to its 65-year growth strategy.

This strategy focuses on reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imported raw materials and boosting local agricultural capacity.
“We are more than just a company,” said Boye Olusanya, FMN’s Group CEO. “We are a development partner to Nigeria—providing livelihoods, promoting sustainability, and supporting our environment and people.”

FMN began its agricultural journey in 1978, acquiring 10,000 hectares in Kaboji, Niger State. Since then, the company has expanded operations to include:
- Cassava
- Maize
- Sorghum
- Sugarcane
- Soya beans
- Palm fruits
- Wheat
These crops support FMN’s integrated value chain, reducing import dependency and promoting Nigeria’s agricultural resilience.
Through Golden Agri Inputs Ltd, a subsidiary of FMN Agro, the group has built structured farming schemes that support over 50,000 Nigerian farmers.
In total, over 400,000 farmers benefit from FMN’s:
- High-yield seed distribution
- Agronomy training
- Post-harvest storage solutions
- Guaranteed markets
These initiatives feed directly into FMN’s food processing operations and reinforce its food security mission.
Olusanya reaffirmed FMN’s long-term vision: “We remain unwaveringly committed to local content development and achieving food self-sufficiency in Nigeria and across the continent.”
FMN’s efforts reflect its role as a powerful force in national development, combining commercial success with social impact.
