Ebonyi State Government announces fast progress in airfield lighting installation at Chuba Okadigbo International Airport, with full flight operations set to resume by August 19, 2025
The Ebonyi State Government has announced significant progress in the installation and connection of airfield lighting to electricity at Chuba Okadigbo International Airport, with full operations expected to resume by August 19, 2025.

Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Abakaliki.

According to her, experts and engineers involved in the airfield lighting installation are working swiftly to complete the connection within the next two weeks.
The commissioner encouraged travelers, particularly from Ogeb, Obubra, Itigidi, Boki, Okigwe, and nearby areas, as well as from Abia, Abuja, and Lagos States, to purchase tickets and utilize the airport.

“The expert in airfield lighting system installation and other engineers handling this project are on the fast lane, trying to maximise two weeks to conclude the installation and hooking up of the airfield lighting system to electricity powerhouse,” the statement read.
She further urged passengers to fly with United Nigeria Airline, which offers routes from Abuja to Abakaliki and Lagos to Abakaliki, and vice versa.
“With the completion of this project, we shall resume our usual flight lifting on 19th August, 2025.
