A Federal High Court in Jalingo, Taraba state, on Wednesday ordered the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to produce Sani Danladi, the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Sani Danladi.

The Sun reports that Danladi is currently facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and violation of financial regulations.

The charge was preferred against him and two others Sen. Joel Ikenya and Mark Useni accused of collecting the sum of N450 million from former president Jonathan to prosecute the 2015 election in the state.

Justice Steven Pam asked the anti-graft agency to produce Danladi, because the court can only assume jurisdiction when the EFCC bring all the accused persons before the court.

Justice Pam said: “This court can only assume jurisdiction when the EFCC bring all the accused persons before the court. The court hereby, reserve ruling on the application challenging the jurisdiction of this honourable court to entertain the case, pending the arraignment of all the accused persons.

“The matter is now adjourned to the 15th January 2019 to enable the prosecution Counsel produce the 3rd defendant in court.”

Meanwhile, we earlier reported that Absence of Justice Babs Kuewumi, on Tuesday, December 4, stalled continuation of trial of Gbenga Makanjuola, an aide to Senate president, Bukola Saraki, charged with N3.5 billion fraud.

Continuation of the trial could not hold before a Federal High Court in Lagos as earlier scheduled because Kuewumi was away on an official duty. The court consequently adjourned the hearing until January 10, 2019.
