No fewer than 10 loggers were killed and others were reported missing when suspected Boko Haram members attacked them in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State on Thursday, vigilante sources said. The incident occurred at about 10a.m. in Lura near Gajibo, about 10 kilometres from Dikwa, the local government headquarters as they collected firewood. A Vigilante source said: “They attacked our people who went to fetch firewood in Lura village, some nine kilometres away from Dikwa town. 10 persons were found lifeless and we brought their dead bodies to Dikwa from the families to identify them. “We buried them in the early hours of Friday according to Islamic rites. Unfortunately many are still missing. One of them who survived the attack, disclosed that many are yet to return home.”
