Benin Zoo director’s abduction: Fun seekers desert animals

Fun seekers have deserted Ogba Zoo and Leisure Park in Benin city after Sunday’s attack in which the park’s director was abducted and three policemen were killed.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the park which usually attracted fun seekers daily had been deserted since the incident.
When NAN visited the zoo on Wednesday, it was devoid of the usual bustling, and no security personnel was seen at the gate.
Three policemen attached to the Zoo to provide security for visitors were killed by gunmen on Sunday and its Director and Chief Executive, Dr Andy Ehanire, abducted.
The director is the younger brother to the Minister of State for Health, Mr Osagie Ehanire.
