The Appeal Court in Port Harcourt has reserved ruling on the matter of who represents the All Progressives Congress in Court over the controversies emanating from the party’s ward, local government and state congresses.

The court reserved ruling after a Lawyer, F.C Nwafor claimed to be representing APC against Tuduru Edeh who filed the notice of Appeal on behalf of the party.

Nwafor told the court that he was assigned to the case by Chienwe Chiwinkpe who he described as the Legal Adviser of the APC after Tuduru Edeh had presented a letter of authority signed by the National Legal Adviser of the APC, Muiz Banire, directing him to handle the matter.

DAILY POST reports that the Appellate court also reserved ruling in a motion filed by twenty-three aggrieved members of the party against the call for stay of execution of the High Court ruling that nullified the ward, local and state congresses of the APC in Rivers state.

Counsel to the twenty-three aggrieved members of the APC, Henry Bello argued that Tuduru Edeh who brought the matter to court does not represent the APC.

Speaking with newsmen outside the courtroom, Tuduru Edeh who filed the appeals on behalf of the Rivers state Chapter of the All Progressives Congress said the party is asking the Appeal court to stop Justice Chiwendu Nworgo of the High Court from sitting.

On his part, counsel to the twenty-three aggrieved members of the APC, Henry Bello said, “the APC’s disobedience of the Court order restraining it from conducting the Congresses is an affront on the Judiciary.”

The Appeal panel led by Justice Isaiah Akeju said a date for ruling will be communicated to the parties after sitting for more than five hours.
