All eyes on Burna Boy as Grammy holds on Sunday

The question on the lips of afrobeats fans across the world is: will Burna Boy win the prestigious Grammy award tomorrow (Sunday)?

The Nigerian singer’s last album, ‘African Giant’ was nominated in the World Music Album category of the 62nd Grammy Awards.

Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy has had a remarkable career, especially in the past one year. In 2019, the singer was the recipient of several coveted awards including Best International Act at the BET Awards.

In anticipation of the awards ceremony, fans and well wishers of the singer have taken to the streets of Twitter to declare him a winner.

A fan, @Edo_bwoy, wrote, “Burna boy is wining a Grammy this week. Let me pin this tweet.” Another admirer, @Jerziiii wrote, “When Burna Boy wins the Grammy, he becomes number one. Wizkid and Davido (should) fight for number two. It is what it is.” @Datposgeh wrote, “It’s so obvious the fan base who feel most threatened about Burna Boy’s possible Grammy win is WizKid FC. They’re praying lowkey he doesn’t get the award so they’d stay hyping him as number one. Plus, first to do it doesn’t mean the best to do it.”

Another follower, @pabloNBA1 wrote, “You (are) all saying Burna Boy should win the Grammy but I have one question. Hope you’d vote for him because if you add my vote and yours, he would definitely win Grammy #Burnaboy #GRAMMYs #Burna.”
