Nigerian singer Seyi Shay fell on stage while performing her hit track, ‘YOLO YOLO’ on Sunday at the AFRIMA 2017 event held at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Lagos.
The accident occurred while the 31-year-old singer was dancing barefooted on the stage.
From the video of the fall, which has since gone viral online, the singer, dressed in black pants and long-appendaged jacket appeared to have tripped on the tail of her jacket as she moved on the stage.
Seyi Shay didn’t allow the fall to ruin her performance, she stood up without any show of abashment and continued her performance which was backed up by four dancers. Seyi would however, say ‘the devil is a liar’ as she completed her performance.
She blamed the devil for the fall in her reaction on IG thereafter.
“As a professional… show must go on,” she wrote as caption to a photo of “the devil is a liar” which she posted on IG.
