The Federal Government has commissioned the site to install seismometer in Abuja to monitor movement within earth crust.
The Minister of State of Mines and Steel Development, 0said this in an interview after commissioning two drilling rigs at the Nigerian Geological Survey Agency (NGSA), Abuja yesterday.
“We commissioned where we want to keep our seismometers. The seismometers will monitor earthquake and tremor. You are aware of the recent occurrence in Abuja and before now, there was one in Kwoi two years ago. We are going to install one in Abuja out of the six that we intend to install around the country. They will be installed based on the geological requirement,” he said.
